The University of Haifa Library
Holding the second largest collection in Israel, the University Library comprises over two million books and electronic research tools. Every year, the collection increases by approximately 40,000 titles.
Our Green Campus
In 2008, the University received certification from the Israel Ministry of Environmental Protection as a ”Green Campus” to strengthen its green and environmental status, to promote the conservation of precious resources, and to bring about an improvement in process efficiency

Special Programs (partial listing)
- Programs in cooperation with the Israel Defense Forces: M.A. program for senior IDF officers;
- B.A. for the Intelligence Corps; B.A. for Naval officers; B.A. for the Tactical Command Academy;
- Leadership programs (graduate) for Jews and Arabs in business, education ,and political science;
- Social work, nursing, and occupational therapy studies for the ultra-religious community;
- International School for international students to study on a non-degree basis for a summer, semester, or full academic year;
- Pre-Academic Unit to prepare University candidates to achieve the necessary criteria for admission to the University;
- 6 Faculties plus the Graduate School of Management, 56 Departments, and 68 Research Centers and Institutes
Academic and Research Faculties
The University comprises six faculties and 56 departments: Humanities, Social Sciences, Sciences and Science Education, Law, Social Welfare and Health Studies, and Education; and five Schools: Business Administration, Social Work, History, Public Health, and Political Sciences.
Innovative and cutting edge research is concentrated in 68 Research Centers and Institutes (partial listing), including study of psychological stress, information processing and decision-making, evolution, the Holocaust; maritime studies, natural and environmental resources, shipping and aviation, Research facilities include: the Jewish-Arab Center, Herzl Institute for the Study of Zionism and Israel, Study of Crime, Law, and Society, Study of Pilgrimage, Tourism and Recreation; Interdisciplinary Center for the Study of Emotions; International Brain and Behavior Research Center; Center for Democratic Studies; Center for Law and Technology; Center for Research of Education for Peace; and the Center for National Security Studies and Geostrategy.
