Reception Hosted by Ambassador Gabriela Shalev


New York, NY, Aug 20, 2010—In one of her final events in America as she concludes her two-year tenure as Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Gabriela Shalev hosted ASUH friends and donors at her residence on June 30.

The evening featured guest speaker Aaron Ben-Ze’ev, President of the University of Haifa, and ASUH Board Chairman, Arthur K. Wachtel. Dr. Ben-Ze’ev, who spoke at the event as part of his tour through the United States, stressed his eagerness to meet with the University's supporters and to share his vision for developing, populating, and establishing a major scientific campus in the Galilee. Among her remarks, Professor Shalev, Israel's first woman Ambassador to the U.N., echoed Dr. Ben Ze’ev’s call for growth in Israel's north.
