University of Haifa and University of Florida Join Forces
The University of Haifa recently announced a new partnership with the University of Florida, one of the five largest American universities. UF's International Center and the University of Haifa have established a 15-credit Fall Semester Abroad program for undergraduate students, cementing the University of Haifa's status as a destination of choice for American students studying abroad.
The program includes a core course on Israeli history and culture taught by a UF faculty member, along with language study, and English elective courses. Students demonstrating proficiency in Hebrew can enroll in other departments of the University as well. Opportunities to participate in community-based projects and leadership tours with faculty or professional tour guides, will enhance students' academic experiences.
Executive Director of the UF International Center, Dr. Susanne Hill, recently visited UHaifa and is very excited about the partnership. "I was extremely pleased to find a well organized program with sound academics, professional student services, safe and spacious housing, as well as a wonderful and welcoming staff in the International School.”
Close to 800 students from more than 40 countries are drawn to the UHaifa’s unique study programs each year, and new partnerships continue to be forged with universities whose students are seeking an unforgettable academic and cultural experience in Israel. In addition to UF, the University of Maryland, Boston University, University of Minnesota, University of Richmond, and Elon University, are among the growing list of United States’ institutions of higher learning already partnering with UHaifa.
English language MA programs are offered in Peace and Conflict Management, Business Administration, and Patent Law. New programs are planned in National Security Studies, Art Therapy, Child Development, Holocaust and Genocide Studies, and Maritime Studies, along with a summer semester focused on Learning Disabilities.
