Dr. Younes Nazarian Visits Campus

Jan 20, 2012—Dr. Younes Nazarian, a longtime supporter of ASUH and the University of Haifa, was on campus to see the latest renovations to the expansion of the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Library, scheduled for completion in Spring 2012.

Dr. Nazarian (at left, in center) met with leadership, faculty, and students during his stay at the University.  The Younes and Soraya Nazarian Library, already one of Israel's most comprehensive, is home to over two million books and electronic materials.  The new Library will be inaugurated during this summer's Board of Governor's Meetings (June 3-5), celebrating the University's 40th anniversary.

The Nazarians' generosity extends far beyond the Library, itself.  At the entrance of the University's campus is the Legacy sculpture, dedicated in 2010 (at right).  The magnificent piece of artwork, designed by Soraya Nazarian, is intended to compliment the recently renovated wings of the Library and evokes the story of the Jewish People in Exodus.
