Arab and Jewish donors in Chicago have launched a pioneering scholarship fund designed to support Israeli Arab students at the University of Haifa in Israel.

Under the leadership of Ali Ata and Talat Othman, a committed group of supporters has raised nearly $100,000 in the past few months from a variety of Chicago area benefactors.

The University of Haifa has the most diverse student body of any university in Israel, with Arab students comprising 33% of undergraduate students. The new Arab Student Scholarship Fund will enable the University to provide much needed financial aid to Israeli Arab students, enabling them to enjoy the benefits of a university education.
