Dan Schueftan to Assess Israel’s Security Situation at ASUH Chicago Spring Dinner on June 15th

The American Society of the University of Haifa (ASUH) will be hosting its Chicago Spring Dinner on June 15th, 2015 at The Standard Club.

The evening will feature Professor Dan Schueftan, Director of the National Security Center at the University of Haifa.  He will be speaking about “How safe is Israel right now?,” and will be providing his insights on the security situation in the country and the Middle East.

Professor Schueftan has taught at the Israeli Defense Force National Security College and has served as an adviser for Israel’s National Security Council.  For the last four decades he has been a consultant to Israeli decision makers, including Prime Ministers Ariel Sharon and Yitzchak Rabin, and a key liaison with senior political leaders and officials in the United States and Europe.

The evening will begin with a cocktail reception followed by dinner and the program.  There will be a special performance of The Bar Show. with music, comedy and satire from the Chicago Bar Association’s renowned entertainers.

Yariv Sultan, Vice President for Development and External Relations at the University of Haifa, will provide an update on current research and initiatives at the University, as well as provide perspective on the relations between students on the diverse campus, at which more than 30% of undergraduates are Israeli Arabs.
