On February 24, 2010, guests gathered at the beautiful Manhattan apartment of Tammy and Michel Amsalem to hear a presentation by Professor Martin Golumbic, Professor of Computer Science at the University of Haifa. His topic: “Cutting Edge Science and How It Impacts Our World”.
Professor Golumbic discussed computer science’s multiple roles in anti-terrorism technology; understanding the brain with artificial intelligence; and virtual reality’s new role in physical rehabilitation. Professor’s Golumbic’s comments were followed by a very vigorous Q & A session. Executive Director Fran Ginsburg spoke to the assembled guests about the University of Haifa’s many accomplishments in research and cutting edge technology. She also emphasized the important role that the University has played in the growth and stability of Israel’s north.
