Visiting UH Faculty Bring Academic Knowledge to the U.S.

Over the next year, more than 25 visiting scholars and researchers from the University of Haifa will be in residence in universities across the United States.


Dr. Amatzia Baram will be serving as Goldman Chair in the Department of Government at Georgetown University during the 2010-2011 academic year

UH’s noted academics will have a strong presence at some of America’s most esteemed institutions, including:

  • Princeton
  • Yale
  • Stanford
  • NYU
  • Columbia
  • Georgetown
  • Notre Dame
  • University of California at Berkeley
  • University of Colorado at Boulder

UH’s academics’ fields of expertise are equally diverse, encompassing areas such as maritime civilizations, Middle East history, political science, mathematics, psychology, Arabic language and literature, and comparative Hebrew literature.

Professors such as Sammy Smooha (comparative ethnic relations), Amatzia Baram (Middle Eastern and Iraqi history), and Vered Kraus (women and the labor market) are among the noted UH scholars who will grace American campuses in 2010-2011.
