Our Impact

Over the 50 years of its existence, the University has developed into a world-class academic institution. We have gained an international reputation in a variety of fields, including public health, law, security studies, Holocaust research, cancer research, neurosciences, bioinformatics, marine sciences, and education. Moreover, we have always taken pride in our student body of 18,000, a diverse tapestry of ethnic and socio-economic backgrounds. In addition to being the most pluralistic institution of higher education in the country, University of Haifa is also the largest research university in northern Israel. At a place where Jews, Arabs, Druze, Haredi, and secular students, immigrants, military and security personnel come together to study, teach and learn—great things can happen.

University of Haifa sits ready to take on the challenges of the 21st century and we recognize the need for new investments to confront the complexities of the digital age. We plan to expand our disciplinary profile, while moving to problem-based research involving teams from multiple academic disciplines. This shift will be accompanied by the ability to transcend barriers and expand our academic footprint, creating new campuses and expanding our reach into downtown Haifa and beyond.

The expansion of our campus and programs makes University of Haifa well-positioned to transform the north of Israel.

  • A more-developed downtown will attract more students, faculty, and administration thus creating demand for more businesses and services.
  • Newly-established public and private partnerships will foster the development of think-tanks, start-ups, and collaborations, creating jobs and additional opportunities.
  • University buildings are located close to public transportation, encouraging and enabling commuters from all throughout the country to come to Haifa.

With the help of our supporters and partners, University of Haifa will be the most transformative university in Israel over the next decade.
